MACHINING TECHNOLOGIES

Barrie Welding & Machine (1974) Ltd offers quality CNC and conventional machining services to a global marketplace. Our skilled staff are able to meet your needs, from the simplest repair to complex mill/turn multi axis machining. We regularly deal with components ranging from mere ounces to those in excess of one hundred tons. Our in-house quality team, certified to ISO 9001: 2015, will customize our procedures to suit your specific needs. We make use of a very large range of conventional and CNC machinery to perform processes such as horizontal and vertical turning, milling up to 5 axes, mill/turn hybrid machining, cylindrical and blanchard grinding, tool and cutter grinding, and much more. CNC MACHINE SHOP

With access to over forty CNC lathes and mills on site, no job is too big or too small for our CNC department. We can fulfill order sizes to meet your needs, from volumes as low as one-off to full production runs, all performed with the care and quality our customers have come to trust. Highlights include:

  • Part sizes up to 34’ long x 15’ tall, accessible in one setup on our largest mill. Complete with an integrated 90 ton rotary table
  • Our largest lathe will handle parts of 63½” diameter x 512” between
  • Vertical boring mill that will service 26’ diameter X 15’ tall with turning and live milling capability

CONVENTIONAL MACHINING

Our conventional machine shop is a core service that has met the needs of our customers for more than 70 years. We have over 60 mills and lathes of varying sizes that enable us to service a vast range of job types. Our goal is to satisfy your unique needs, from low volume part production to repairs of existing machine components. In fact, emergency repairs are one of our specialties. We operate a regular evening shift and will extend working hours to ensure you receive the components you need when it counts the most.
